As we reach into the new year 2012 we can reflect and remember on 2011. We had various mediums for our Wednesday and Sunday services, some coming a considerable distance to demonstrate their abilites, some of whom are growing very recognised by the media. We are grateful to them all.
Various events through the year provided us with a host of dates for our diaries. Foremost the 50 year church rededication service on Sept 17th the church was at full capacity with visitors, mediums and members of Rustington, Portsmouth, Hayling Island, Havant and Bitterne churches.
We were all, as well as Presidents past and present entertained by Barbershop Singers. Patricia was handed the key by Mr David Bruton OSNU at the end of the service and everyone enjoyed the buffet including a special cake marking the occasion.
The fish & chip supper was again sold out, it was a lovely enjoyable evening which was followed by a raffle. The ploughman’s supper was a similar event earlier in the year which was a great success. Towards the end of 2011 we had our Harvest festival service with wonderful hymns. The offerings from you were truly generous and we were able because of this to deliver 18 parcels to the elderly, vulnerable and those who are struggling financially. The recipients were extremely thankful, so we thank you for your generosity.
We had various Saturday evenings of clairvoyance which benefited various charities and indeed also the upkeep of our lovely church, The demonstrators included Francis Steddan, Tony Stockwell and Jenny Docherty to name a few. To finish 2011 we had the Christmas carol service which was very well attended, everybody enjoyed the carols, the poems, the festive atmosphere and the infamous raffle.
The awareness days held on Saturdays are very popular it gives a chance to hone & learn new skills. With these small groups coming together to make new friends in a peaceful & special atmosphere. We will advise you of future days as the dates approach.
We are looking forward to a 2012 that provides us again with the means to provide these events and services which mean so much to old and new visitors.
We will continue to do Monday night at 7pm to 8.30pm and Tuesday afternoon 1.30 - 4pm healing, all are welcome.
We would like to remind you that the Wednesday service now starts at 7-30pm.
On behalf of the very appreciated and dedicated committee I would like to wish you all a very happy 2012.
